Lets meet the Band of Anita Ray & Western Union


Anita Ray: Lead Vocals
Anita Ray Anita Ray started her singing career at the tender age of 10 in the school choirs and won numerous awards around England. Once leaving school Anita worked hard with her singing career and in 1990 turned professional and hit the club scene taking bookings around Lancashire theatres, cabaret and social clubs and then ventured further a field to north Wales, Yorkshire and Shropshire. Anita supported many star names on the same bill such as, Amen Corner, The Searchers and Wayne Fontana and the Mind Benders. In 1992 Anita then went abroad and appeared in night the clubs of Spain and USA, gaining a vast experience of entertaining cosmopolitan audiences. In 1996 she decided to put her own show together called, Memories of a Decade. But her heart was all for country music and although the show was still going strong Anita went on to sing around the country music scene. This soon took over her singing career and became her life ambition. She got to number four on the click charts with Shut Up and Drive, and it stayed in the top twenty for six months. Anita visited Nashville and whilst she was there she got all the best quality backing tracks played by live musicians. Anita is well known for her stage presence, her personality, and her raport with her audience, along with her great country voice.
Ron Ronson: Bottle Neck slide guitar; Lead guitar; Rhythm guitar; Lead & Backing vocals
Ronnie Ronson Ron strengthens the line up and provides not only lead vocals, but the high harmonies, bottle neck slide, rhythm, additional lead guitar and lap steel, are just a few of this man’s many talents. Like the others has spent many years on the road touring the British Isles with a variety of line-ups playing the clubs and concert circuits. One of the bands he played in was Sods Law featuring his distinctive style of country guitar and vocals. A varied musical background has given Ron a deep understanding of music theory, production and arrangements, which provides the perfect basis for his role in Interstate 509. Ron also played steel for Heather Myles on her U.K. tour.
Ron plays: Fender Stratacaster guitar; Bottle Neck slide guitar; Lead guitar; Rhythm guitar; Lead & Backing vocals.
Nick Cornall: Keyboard Player
Nik Cornall Nick is a head teacher as well as a musician. Usually to be found playing R&B in the North Western Band, The Cheating Hearts Popular regulars at the Colne Blues Festival. Nick can also be found playing local pubs in the duo, The Usual Suspects. Nick is a lifelong country fan, having written songs for the albums of 80s London Country band Firewater as well as playing Paulette and the Bar-room Boys on the southern country music circuit. Nick is also a composer, with more than 10 published musicals to his name. Nick plays: keyboard & Lead & Backing vocals.
